MEGALITHIC MUSEUM

The old railway station in Mora is an iconic building that is part of the village heritage. The building is deeply rooted in the collective memory of the Mora inhabitants and all of those that, through time went by.
The project clarifies and brings to light the architectural value of the existing buildings, in a gesture of careful refurbishment.
Two new buildings are proposed to host the mail exhibition and the café area. The buildings area connected between them through a continuous gallery that is developed along the north side of the site plot, bringing to mind the linearity of the old railway station dock.
The tectonic expression of this linear gallery evokes the Megalithic iconographic patterns, a theme that is present as the ground level of all buildings, a conceptual leitmotif that aggregates the project.
The proposal regenerates the village in an active and positive way, establishing a clos inter-relation to the future Mora Urban Park.
