The redevelopment of the area among via Torino, della Palla and Lupetta for the construction of a new multipurpose building includes: 3,000 sqm of retail surface on the side of Via Torino, 300 sqm of residential surface developed towards Via Lupetta / Piazza Sant’Alessandro, 90 car garages, 2,100 sqm of office space for public use on the upper floors on the side of Via Torino completely independent from the rest of the building and the refurbishment of the road pavement along the perimeter of the area.
The main targets are to create a landmark building in place of one of the main deteriorated areas in the city centre, to build an important retail platform in one of the most commercially busy streets of the city able to attract international players by offering them the highest retail standards and to provide an architectural symbol able to attract the high number of passers by present on the Via Torino street. The project has to deal with strongly characterized surroundings, which also implied the need to preserve part of the historical building.
BMS has developed the structural and MEP design, the provisional works design for historically relevant walls retention, and is also responsible for project coordination, project and construction management, works supervision and health and safety coordination on building site.
