The building houses the city book heritage and is the centre of the executive and amministrative offices of the library system.
The library is in the shape of a parallelepiped with solid walls, interrupted only towards the road by a thin vertical cut that opens up at ground level, near the entrance.
On the opposite side, a wide window that runs along the whole length of the facade connects the interior to the courtyard planted with trees.
The reading rooms are distributed on five levels and overlook the big central void lit by skylights at roof level.
