The new Naturalis Biodiversity Center forms an 'ensemble-design' of the existing buildings, a newly constructed building and new outdoor spaces.
With a collection totalling over 37 million objects Naturalis is one of the top five natural history museums in the world. All the exhibition rooms and public functions will be situated in the new building next to the existing building. The depots, laboratories and offices will be situated in the renovated building and tower.
The new central lobby connects the two buildings and all the different functions and will become the main entrance of the new Naturalis Biodiversity Center.
