Circle Square is an exciting new neighbourhood in the heart of Manchester City Centre, unlike anywhere else in the country.
It is located on the former BBC site on Oxford Road at the heart of Corridor Manchester, one of the UK's top innovation districts.
Unmatched in location and scale the scheme will create a pioneering new destination within the city that will include over 1200 new homes, more than 1.2 million square feet of offices, a hotel, shops, restaurants and bars surrounded by leading institutions in art, dance, culture, science and technology.
Buildings will be situated around a new outdoor public area called ‘The Green’ where people can gather to meet, shop, talk, eat, and drink, bringing much needed green space to the city centre.
FCBStudios were initially commissioned to masterplan the project and are now working on two office buildings, a pair of residential buildings including a 34-storey tower, a car park and ‘The Pavilion’ - a smaller scale building located under ‘The Green’ that will accommodate innovative retailers and events.
The architecture is informed by the grand Victorian warehouses nearby and will feature glazed terracotta tile façades.
This pioneering and highly sustainable redevelopment will take eight years to complete and will be delivered in three phases, with 60% of the scheme delivered by the end of 2019.
