A village with welcoming, two-storey houses gathering around a luxuriant garden with greenhouses, this is what the new headquarter and production, packaging and storage plant of Davines haircare company and its skincare brand [comfort zone], designed by MTLC, an architectural firm by Matteo Thun and Luca Colombo, look like. Besides the office spaces the project includes laboratory spaces, education zones for hairdresser’s and aestheticians’ training, test spaces for davines as well as a skin bar where [comfort zone] products can be tested. The distinct sense of beauty, the professional values and mission of the hair care brand are symbolized by an architecture based on traditional Italian farmhouses and the archetypes of industrial buildings. A contemporary interpretation of traditional shapes and values: gabled roofs carried are by cubic volumes gathering around a vast green zone building the central square of the village. exterior and makes greenhouse an integral element of the everyday office live. The gentle mood of the complex and the transparency of the buildings, given by wide glazed surfaces, reflect the engagement of Davines and [comfort zone] with environmental and ethical sustainability, the latter related to the welfare of all employees.
