TEMPORARY STRUCTURES REPLACING THE GASTEIG CULTURAL CENTRE -

The Gasteig is an important cultural centre in Munich comprising several concert halls: the Philharmonic Hall, with 2,500 seats, the Carl-Orff Saal, with 600 seats, the Black-Box, with 70 seats, and the Kleiner Konzertsaal, with its 200 seats, in addition to a number of rooms for seminars and lectures.
The centre will undergo major reorganization and modernization works, which are expected to start in 2020 and last 4 years.
Two new temporary concert halls will be built not to disrupt the daily activities at the Gasteig: an 1800-seat hall replacing the Philharmonic hall, and a 700-seat hall replacing the Carl-Orff Saal.
Both halls will be equipped with all required facilities, including the foyer, the backstage, the warehouse, offices and rehearsal rooms.
The structures, made entirely of laminated wood and X-Lam panels, will be designed to be easily dismantled upon completion of the restoration works.
