The San Nicola Stadium in Bari is the largest sports facility in Apulia and the fourth largest stadium in Italy. The structure of the stadium resembles a flower and consists of 26 tiers, defined by architect Renzo Piano as ‘petals’. Tiers are linked to each other by a steel, stainless steel and Teflon roof which protects the audience from rain and the afternoon sun.
