RESEARCH CENTRE FOR NEUROSCIENCES CAMPUS CEA -

The project, initiated by the CEA as it inscribes in the framework of "Campus operations" and "Scientific and technological development of the Saclay plateau" of the program "Pôle d'Excellence". The building will become a home to studies carried out by an institute of fundamental neurosciences, called "Neurosciences Paris-Saclay" (Neuro-PSI). 
The Paris-Saclay Institute of Neuroscience is located in the immediate vicinity of Neurospin to form in the CEA campus in Saclay, the largest neuroscience complex of the region of Paris (NeuroSaclay). This new building is to bring together teams of international reputation and the technological means, necessary to tackle major challenges of brain studies and diseases. 
The "Neurosciences Paris-Saclay" Institute will enable gathering the research teams, mainly from the existing teams of the CNRS, the Paris-Sud University and newly recruited international teams. With an area of approximately 19.000 m² (Total area), the project includes: research laboratories, a terrestrial animals housing facility (rodents, birds, carnivores), an aquatic animals housing facility, reception rooms, teaching rooms and logistics facilities 
In addition to technical specifications related to terrestrial and aquatic animals housing facilities (air treatment, water treatment of aquariums etc.), particular attention is paid to the reduction of cages.
