Gino Zavanella was born in Turin, he studied architecture and urban planning in Florence and graduated in 1969 with prof. Spadolini. He attended lessons with architecure’s maestri such as Ricci and Savioli architects with whom he also worked after graduation. He now lives in Rome, Turin and Viareggio. Member of the Order of Architects since 1970, he founded the GAU in the early 70s by working on an ongoing basis since 1976 with the architect Alessandro Valenti. In 1986 he opened a home studio in Rome and became interested in the architecture of sport. He form in those years “GAU S.r.l.”, by which he designed the project for the “Stadio delle Alpi” of Turin, “SPORTILIA – Sports City”, the Euganeo Stadium of Padua, the Stadium of Salò (BS), the Palace of Sports of Fossano (CN ), and the design of the indoor stadium in Milan, with the architects Aldo Rossi and Ron Labinsky (project ever made).
