ETRUSCAN ART MUSEUM - FONDAZIONE ROVATI -

The Neoclassical palace located at Corso Venezia 52 in Milan is undergoing transformation from a residence to a museum and will host a permanent collection of 600 works of the Etruscan period from a private collection.
The four-storey building features a penthouse with a terrace, and is located on the area of the ortaglie (vegetable gardens) of the ancient Convent of the Capuchin friars of Porta Orientale.
The main façade is characterised by a large balcony on the first floor, overlooking the entrance porch which leads to a large courtyard.
The restoration project, led by architects Mario Cucinella and Enrico Iascone, focuses on maintaining historical façades and volumes.
The museum tour will start from the basement, develop below the garden and continue upstairs. The roof of the underground area recalls the geometry of the Etruscan necropolis of Cerveteri and Tarquinia and is created by the intersection of three convex spherical caps.
The top floor, which hosted equipment rooms, has been converted to residential use and will be completed by a roof garden.
